Elixir DDR3 pushes ahead PC performance, coupled with less power consumption
Elixir DDR3, the latest generation of memory standard from Nanya Technology Corp., is the fruit of persistant innovation in
developing advanced computing memory products for performance-hungry enthusiasts.
With the coming of dual and multi core processor technology, Nanya Technology continues to provide users choices of ultra-fast
DRAM with most advanced technologies and performance unmatched by earlier generations of memory products available in the market.
Elixir DDR3 is fully equipped with an even faster performance and low power consumption to meet the needs of the latest
generation computing system. The new DDR3 architecture delivers high-speed data transfer rates of up to 1600Mbps, doubling
today's highest speed DDR2 memory; with operating voltage at 1.5 volts, down from 1.8 volts for current DDR2
memory. DDR3 device embraces ODT with ZQ Cal to accelerate thermal control and reinforces signal integrity. DDR3 chip will
first be manufactured using 90nm technology, and will move on to 70nm process technology later on when it becomes widely adopted.
DDR3 SDRAM module density range are standardized from 256MB up to 8GB, touting features of Fly-by command/address/control
bus with On-DIMM termination/ODT and OCD to achieve better signal control.
Nanya's DDR3 SDRAM memory products (including Elixir series) are co-developed with Qimonda AG.
